OUR DESIGN JOURNEY

Whether you’re launching a fresh new venture or looking to revamp an established business, I’m here for you. After our initial kickoff meeting, our branding journey begins. Over the coming weeks, we’ll have regular check-ins to make sure timelines and the aesthetic are tracking. Your business holds incredible value, and we’ll work together to create an impactful customer experience that enhances your vision and inspires your audience for years to come.

MY BRAND IDENTITY PROCESS

PHASE 1

We begin the brand identity process with a phone call and subsequent brand questionaire to dive deep into your brand’s foundation. I will then summarize this information in a PDF, including a mood board and color palette for your new identity. This ensures that we stay on target with your intention prior to starting Phase 2.

CONSULT

PHASE 2

The adventure begins! Using the insights we gained from Phase 1, I’ll get to work on your branding concepts. You’ll receive 3 ideas from which you’ll choose 1 to pursue. We’ll fine tune and finesse 1-2 more rounds until the perfect mark is achieved.

You’ll receive all aspects of your new identity – primary and secondary logos, fonts, textures/patterns, and a color palette.

DESIGN

PHASE 3

Now that we have all elements of your new identity, I’ll design 3 collateral pieces of your choice. Now you’ll have a cohesive branding and collateral kit ready to rock.

You’ll receive all final files and a Brand Guidelines PDF to help you maintain the integrity of your branding.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE WHEN WORKING WITH ME

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • With nearly 25 years of experience working in the corporate sector, in the agency world and directly with small businesses, my level of professionalism and graphic design expertise is at the highest level. I am here for you every step of the way!

  • As a Virgo, my perfectionist side comes through in my graphic design work. Being fully committed to your project, I will ensure that every detail is meticulously designed. I’ll make sure your deliverables exceed your expectations and are delivered on time.

  • Our journey together will be totally collaborative. Your input is appreciated and your feedback will be incorporated every step of the way.

  • Expect our design journey to be fun, challenging, a little adventurous and totally worthwhile!

WHAT NOT TO EXPECT

  • I am not an illustrator and don’t draw complex drawings. I am a graphic designer. I work with shapes, colors, images, concepts. I make patterns and unique using these elements.

  • I’ll ensure our design process is streamlined and efficient, minimizing revisions to save you money, maximize productivity and stay on track with our timelines.

  • I have a back end developer to help with any complex e-commerce or any specialty programming. My packages include a basic website designed in Squarespace or Shopify.

  • I work with some really great printers who I have established relationships with for a long time. All printing costs and apparel/promo merchandise will incur a separate fee.

CASE STUDY: BRAND REFRESH

Lyf Gildersleeve, owner of Portland’s beloved Flying Fish Co. restaurant, is known for his commitment to sustainable seafood, delicious food and high vibes. For his latest venture—Frying Fish Co.—a new food truck in his hometown of Sandpoint, ID, he wanted to update his brand by changing one letter in his current logo.

He sent me the original logo (which I did not create). I felt it was unfinished.

I saw an opportunity to refine the brand:

1: The fish felt is floating in space with no structure or depth.

2: The color scheme is dark and flat. Lyf’s personality is upbeat—he loves making delicious food that makes people happy.

What I did:

  • Added circular frame to create a container

  • Added a grounding line for structure/depth

  • Removed “Co.” to free up space and make “Frying Fish” more prominent

  • Refreshed the color palette with bright, fun, ocean-inspired colors

  • Cleaned up the typography for a more polished look

The food truck came in red which was then painted white to add the updated branding.
